Book Club Part. 1
When there are limited activities due to social distancing, bar closures, or generally trying to stay home for personal safety, I picked up an old hobby - reading. I used to spend ALL my time reading to the point that my best friend and I were always competing for who could get more “Reading Minutes” in middle school.
Here are some of my recent favorites:
Non-fiction:
White Fragility by Robin DiAngelo
The Defining Decade: Why Your Twenties Matter - And How to Make the Most of Them Now by Meg Jay
He’s Just Not That Into You by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo
How to Fix a Broken Heart by Guy Winch
Fiction:
A Stranger on the Beach by Michele Campbell
Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn
Verity by Colleen Hoover
Can You Keep a Secret? by Sophie Kinsella
Sophie Kinsella’s Shopaholic series
My favorites are definitely Verity and He’s Just Not That Into You but for very different reasons. The first is a windy and unpredictable thriller that kept me guessing every step of the way. The second is funny and honest about the realities that we face when it comes to dating.
