How I'm Practicing Self Care Without Travel

As an avid traveler, I deal with all my problems (good and bad) by traveling. Now that I can’t do that for the foreseeable future, I thought it would be fun to share a few different things I’m doing that don’t involve airplanes or Airbnbs.

  1. Yoga. I’ve done so much yoga during these last couple of months! I finished my 200 hour teaching certificate, and with that came all the yoga classes. Corepower Yoga is offering free online classes that are updated weekly. These include vinyasa classes and HIIT style workouts (they’re called Yoga Sculpt). Check these out here!

  2. Masks on masks. I’m a skincare junkie and used Sephora’s annual VIB sale to grab a few extra masks. My two favorites are the AHA/BHA peel from The Ordinary and the Honey Potion mask from Farmacy. Both of these are amazing for clearing out your pores and refreshing your skin after a long day of watching TV (see below).

  3. Did I say binge-watching TV? With not a lot to do outside my apartment, I’ve admittedly spent way too much time watching Hulu. My recent favorite shows have been Veronica Mars, The Bold Type, and Love Island (if you’re into some juicy reality drama, this is for you).

  4. Daily walks. The need to get out of my apartment and walk around is extreme and as a self-proclaimed indoor person, this is something I never thought I’d willingly do. Surprisingly, it’s been really good for my mental health. Getting some fresh air each day has helped ground me and sweat it out (in Texas daily walks consist of 100+ degree weather and lots of humidity).
